For some reason I have only posted a few bare pictures of our Kitchen when we first bought our home. So here are just a few until I have time to do a proper blog post!

Refinished buffet ! I have the greatest dad!

My father bought this buffet for us as an anniversary gift at a tag sale for $25 ! We are celebrating 6 years ! 

He refinished it and painted it white! The before and after pictures are quite dramatic! My fresh picked peonies add an extra special finishing touch ! (Picked from our yard this morning ) 

I am so blessed to have the greatest Dad! What is even extra special is that he bought the mirror above it for us on our second wedding anniversary! I will cherish both pieces forever because he gave them to me !!!! What do you think? 

Celebrating 6 happy years of marriage!

This morning I gave my husband matching coffe mugs as a small anniversary gift. We sipped our coffe and watched our kids laugh and play! My three year old son made a fort with our couch cushions and made the baby laugh! My husband made heart shaped pancakes and we all sat together to watch our wedding video ... Start to finish! I then picked the peonies from our yard ! They were our wedding flower and smell just like our wedding day ! They bloom on our anniversary every year ! How lucky is that!?!?!?! Tonight we will be going out to dinner for the first time in almost 6 months since the baby was born! Can't wait to have adult conversation and reminisce about all we have experienced together these past ten years together and six married! I couldn't have picked a better person to spend this life by my side ! Feeling very blessed and grateful today! 

New jute rug from RUGS USA

It's here! The new chunky loop jute rug color bleach from RugsUSA! It's beautiful, soft, thick and feels great to walk on ! It doesn't smell like some jute rugs! It brings such texture into the room and a causal feel to a space that was starting to feel way to formal!

 It also compliments the counter stools well which are also made of natural material. The counter stools are from target . They are mess proof especially... three-year-old mess proof! Perfect for our family dinners ! ( we eat a lot of pasta)!!!! 

Now back to the rug...I placed the order on Saturday afternoon and by Monday morning the rug shipped and it was on my doorstep by Tuesday!! Very fast shipping and the shipping was free! That's a big deal for rugs where shipping can cost $50 or more! What a great company! My kids love playing on it already too!

There is a 60% off summer sale going on now with code SUM60 so the 6x9 is only $117.00 no tax , no shipping charge! The 8x10 is only $170.00 which is unheard of for a thick well made jute rug! A comparable one from potterybarn (which is not as nice) is also on sale right now for $381.00 (originally $449.00)not including sales tax and shipping! It doesn't look as thick and the color is not as nice! It's so hard to find a nice bleached color jute rug! I feel like I won the rug lottery with mine!!!!! Lol

My only complaint is that I love it so much I wish I bought a larger size ! I'm considering exchanging it for a size larger ! 

Updating great room kitchen-living-dining room combo to all neutrals

I started by adding two Ikea dinning chairs to the ends of our already exciting Eyhan Allen dinning room set ! We needed two more chairs because we have a large family and the compliment our white couch and white kitchen cabinets perfectly! What a deal! Similar ones sell at pottery barn for much more money ! 

Next we finally but in a window behind our dining room table! We have lived in this house almost 7 years and it has been on our to-do list! 

We bought white curtains for both sides of the window and both sides of the sliding door. From Ikea for around $30 a pair! That's 2 panels for $30!!! Unbelievable price ! We spent almost  $300 on pottery barn curtains behind out couch! Yikes! Never again!!! 

Next I swapped out the yellow rug, pillows and accessories for all neutral beige , whites and taupes. Pillows from Serena and Lily ( a little on the pricy side but sooooo worth it!) and the smaller cream and white from pottery barn and etsy respectively. 

My father is helping refinish a beautiful piece of furniture in white for under our mirror! We had been using an old desk from target for the time wing but it always bothered me! I can't wait to see it finished!
